Tom Dingle, Director

Tom became the Director of Jersey Arts Trust in 2011, having initially joined as an Arts Development Officer in 2008. Since this time he has conceived and produced a range of developmental projects including, the New Plays Project, Creative Arts Programme and the Artist Lock In alongside the delivery of the wider programme. Since 2016, Tom has driven the evolution of Jersey Arts Trust to ArtHouse Jersey with the expansion of the company’s residency programme and international reach. Away from ArtHouse Jersey, Tom is a Governor at Jersey College for Girls and played a supporting/advisory role for Branchage Film Festival. Tom previously worked as a freelance theatre director and an assistant projects producer and graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature.

 

 

Matt Fiott, Executive Producer

Matt comes to ArtHouse Jersey with significant experience of working in government and business development. Prior to his appointment he worked in Jersey’s Ministry of External Relations for eight years in a variety of roles, most recently as Head of Brexit Coordination and EU. Before that, Matt led on business development for the Branchage Film Festival and in various roles in television and publishing. Matt grew up and was educated in Jersey at Victoria College. He studied for his degree in International Business at the University of Plymouth, and gained his Masters in International Relations at the University of Hong Kong.

 

 

Alice Bravery, Producer

Alice graduated from The University of York with a BA (Hons) in Writing, Directing and Performance from the Department of Theatre, Film and Television. She has been working for ArtHouse Jersey since 2013, initially within the role of Arts Development Assistant (2013-2014), as Marketing Officer (Maternity Cover, 2016) and as Producer (2017-8).  Within this role, Alice has been responsible for delivering a huge array of interesting and worthwhile projects, included running AHJ’s Artist-Lock-In, the Bedell Creative Arts Programme, Skipton Open Studios, Skipton Art Series well as residencies, developmental projects and events that bring art into the wider community.

Philip Hewat-Jaboor, Chairman

Philip started his career in Sotheby’s Belgravia in 1972 where he specialised in 19th century furniture and works of art. He subsequently concentrated on 18th century French and English furniture before developing the auction house’s client advisory services department. He opened his consultancy business in 1982 with the aim of providing totally independent advice to new collectors keen to acquire works of art. He has been collecting for many years, and holds works ranging from sculpture, hardstone vases and fragments from ancient Egypt, Rome and Byzantine, to neoclassical pieces and historic photography.  Philip has been involved in Masterpiece London since the very first edition where he chaired the vetting committee. In 2012 he was appointed Chairman of the fair. Philip is also an independent art adviser, who works on behalf of private collectors, museums and designers, to buy and sell a wide range of paintings, furniture and works of art. He was the co-curator of the exhibition, ‘William Beckford, An Eye for the Magnificent’ at the Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts in New York in October 2001 and at the Dulwich Picture Gallery in 2002. He also curated the exhibition ‘Thomas Hope: Regency Designer’ held at the Victoria and Albert Museum from March to June 2008 and at the Bard Graduate Center in New York from July to November 2008; co-editing the catalogue.

 

Gailina Liew, Vice-Chair
Gailina is a non-executive Director, entrepreneur and retired listed company executive with more than 20 years experience in commercialising personalised medicine and bioinformatic technologies, establishing strategic alliances in North America and Asia, managing public-private partnerships, and translating ideas into viable business opportunities. Gailina holds a BSc in Molecular Genetics & Molecular Biology (University of Toronto), a LLB (Western University), an MBA (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University & Schulich School of Business, York University), and is a certified adjudicator (Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators & Osgoode Hall Law School, York University).
 
 

Philip Thomas, Treasurer

Phil is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and has a wealth of experience from working in accounting, legal, distribution, manufacturing and 3rd sector organisations.  He holds the Certificate & Diploma in Company Direction awarded by the Institute of Directors.  He is the Finance Director for Jersey Heritage.

 

 

 

 

Jacque Rutter

Jacque qualified as an Art therapist and Teacher, achieving the top student award – the Louise Ryland Prize - following two major museum collections that she produced as part of her studies. Jacque worked as a Documentary Illustrator for the Sunday Times newspaper before moving into Education. She set up the Roche Sides Art Centre in the Peak District, which featured in a BBC Two documentary that highlighted outstanding art practices in Britain. In 2000 she moved to Jersey to become head of the art faculty at Hautlieu school, where she has led the development of a range of extensive projects such as the Ice Age project as well as the Jersey Young Ambassador programme and Young Arts Society. As a Trustee, she helped ArtHouse Jersey to curate and bring the Paper Dialogues exhibition to Jersey and continues to be instrumental in helping us to shape and develop our artistic programme.

 
 
Mike Sunier

Mike has been at the forefront in advising on PR for the financial services industry in Jersey since 1990. The agency founder and the first Jersey-based PR practitioner to be awarded a Fellowship by the CIPR, Mike has led and managed PR campaigns for global organisations throughout his career.

 

 

 

 

 

Giles Adu

Giles has over 20 years of experience in investment, asset management and financial technology. He is passionate about creating innovative, high-value solutions. Giles has established several start-ups and challengers in the financial industry to challenge the status quo delivering customer satisfaction and organisation leadership.

 

 

 

Charlotte Compton

Charlotte is a lawyer specialising in criminal law. Having worked in the UK and Jersey in criminal defence, she now works as a prosecutor in the field of financial crime. Her interest in the arts and belief in their importance to society as a whole led her to a trustee role at AHJ.
