Culture Jersey, a new States website, has been launched to provide details about events, organisations and opportunities around the Island. This includes all types of cultural groups such as those working in craft, dance, drama, film, visual arts, heritage and music.

The website's events page provides an up-to-date listing of the happenings around the island which can be searched via category, keywords or dates. Additonally, the website features an organisation directory, a listing of available courses and workshops, and also a page providing information on grant and funding opportunites, which includes ArtHouse Jersey's Seed-Funding Grant.

Online templates allow information in standard format to be submitted to the editorial team at the Jersey Library. There is also a blog which allows subjects of general interest to be aired and views exchanged. The development of the website, at a cost of around £16,000, has been funded by EDTSC, and staff at the Jersey Library will be responsible for maintaining the editorial content.

Assistant Minister with responsibility for Culture, Deputy Murray Norton, says, " provides a one-stop shop that enables people not just to find out what’s going on but also to get more information to follow up their own specific interests. Many of our partner organisations have been calling for such a resource and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to provide it with the vital support of Jersey Library."
